So the day after Easter my heart was so tender and sensitive towards the Father and all that Resurrection Sunday meant for me, and for all of us. I was praising Him for the freedom that we have and I went to the Word that day. I am thinking that this would make a good title for a book – The Day After. Where were our hearts the day after?? What were we thinking and doing? Did everything just go back to “normal” or status quo? I think that has been true for me in the past, but I want more than that! Jesus paid such a high price for our freedom and He wants us to be UNHINDERED.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name; who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God…and of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:10-13, 16-17)
Of His fullness, we have ALL received, and grace for grace. I began to study that out and ask God what it meant. Grace comes from Christ’s fullness and we have all received His fullness when we believe and receive Christ our personal Lord and Savior. What we have received is all His power and provision, the resurrection power and the Life that He died to give us. We have been given the ability to walk unhindered as we cooperate and agree with God about what is really true, from His perspective. He wants us to know that His fullness is available to us and with His infilling, that comes by His Spirit, we have all His provision and His power for whatever we need personally and in every other area of our lives.
This year, we have been focusing on God and we know that He will give us the ability to receive experientially, not simply intellectually, what we need to break through in every area of life. There is a way for us to cooperate with God and agree with God. In our work and our worship, it will be what takes us to a new day and a new mindset that aligns our heart with the heart of God. What might those practical steps be and how does that come out in our thought life? Our thoughts are so important and they determine our actions. Remember, from His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. Call out to God for His power and provision and ask for help! It’s a short word and a simple thought that we might ask God to help us! It would be truly cooperating with God and agreeing with Him when we ask Him for help?!! Right?
If children can ask for help, so can we. Let’s humble ourselves and cooperate with God and agree with Him that we need help.
I would love to hear your stories of what will happen as you cooperate, agree and ask. Email me and let me know. Be blessed.
The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
“‘“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”’
“So they will put my name on the Israelites,
and I will bless them.”
