Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that IF you believe (in Me), you will see the glory of God (the expression of His excellence)?
John 11:40, AMP
Yes, we will see God’s glory – the expression of His excellence – by choosing to act in obedience with His truth. Think about it like this. The Bible says that the just shall live by faith. Our lives should reflect God’s truths – His promises – as we live and walk it out by faith. Faith is simply choosing to believe that what He has promised us is really true for us.
So even when we can’t see what the outcome will be, we believe and receive what we ask for and need. God is glorified in that! I have been really trying this in my own life and it has revolutionized my prayer life. I am boldly asking and claiming His promises for myself and others. I sense that He wants to show us how to live in His love and His care. I believe God’s Word that says that faith can move mountains! Smith Wigglesworth said, “If faith can remove a mountain, it will remove anything!”
I have been struggling with tinnitus for 12 years. I have gone to many doctors and tried everything to make it better. It has been a constant thing and has been debilitating. I have learned to live with it and resigned myself to it. But God!
I was praying and believing God for healing in whatever way I needed it, and I knew that it was time that I asked and believed God for my ear. God has answered my prayer and after all these years – He healed my ear! I am so grateful that as I cried out to God that He showed me that I was not asking in true faith as I prayed. I had just accepted it as my cross to bear. But He had so much more for me.
Priscilla Shirer said this about faith, “Faith is acting like it is so, even when it is not so, so that it might be so, simply because God said so.”
God wants to do mighty things in us, and then He is glorified. Be willing and committed to translate your beliefs into active faith. In Mark 9:21-23 Jesus was speaking to a father about his little boy and asked him, “How long has this been happening to him?” and he answered, “Since childhood…but if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!” Jesus said to him, “(You say to Me,) ‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes and trusts (in Me)!”
1. I am going to ask you to join me and say what that father said next. “I do believe; help (me overcome) my unbelief.” Run to the Father and confess unbelief and tell Him what you need and want.
2. Keep asking and believing. Don’t give up but run to the Father over and over. We must be willing to want to get whole. Keep thanking Him over and over.
3. Watch for His excellence in the midst of your active faith. When Jesus speaks, that’s enough! In Luke 5 is the story of the fishermen that had fished all night and caught nothing. But Jesus told them to put out their nets into the deep water. Simon said, ‘but at Your word I will (do as You say and) lower the nets again.” They caught so many fish they had to ask others to come in another boat and help them!
4. I am asking and believing God for your situation and watching for His excellence and glory!! Step out in active faith and BELIEVE.
