This is a season to thrive! That is what we believe! We were made to thrive, not just survive! That is from the Casting Crowns new CD called Thrive. I hope and pray for all of us that this next season is a time of new growth and obedience. I have been crying out to God for this in my own life. I looked up this word online and came up with the following results:
thrive, (verb);
1. (of a child, animal, or plant) grow or develop well or vigorously. “the new baby thrived”
2. to prosper; flourish. “education groups thrive on organization”
synonyms:
flourish, prosper, burgeon, bloom, blossom, mushroom, do well, advance, succeed, boom
Seems to apply right now. I pray that children and adults would grow up and mature, and then thrive, and develop vigorously. That we, as a group of people that want to learn, would get organized and advance to do more than we ever thought we could! May we be like a fruitful tree that has deep roots and is planted by the water and knows that it’s very life and source is God! We pray that is true for you also and that in the midst of these troubling days, God will be your life and your source. We would love to sit over a cup of coffee and talk about just that. As you come into Habitué and sit for a while and take a deep breath, allow God to give you a sense of His deep love and care for you and your circumstances. He is in our midst and we see His beauty as our world begins to bloom and flourish with the colors of Spring!
So, whether, it is the new life of motherhood or you are a grandma for the first time; or maybe you are raising teenagers and getting ready to send off a child to college and let go. The seasons of life are all to allow us to grow and mature and become! Maybe you are getting ready to hand your job off to someone else who can take it and do things that you know that you can’t, or are not supposed to. We can open our hands to release what we hold on to so closely, and know that true freedom comes as we release and watch the mystery unfold.
I am looking for butterflies and the beauty of watching someone or something move from immaturity to maturity; from chaos to order. When the hard times push us and we see and feel a deep need for change that will be life transforming, it’s like that tree that is in times of drought and if it is planted by the river where it can keep putting its roots down deeper – it will make a strong tree because of its deep root system. When we do that with our relationship with our Heavenly Father, we are going to the only source that can meet our deepest needs. And He will meet our needs like no one else ever could. We risk the Life that He has for us when we turn to others and don’t rely on His strength and His order of things.
We have a need for relationship with our Father God, our Creator and Sustainer. God is a God of order and not of chaos. This spring feels like we are all waiting for the order that we need and the change up in the weather. It seems like we all feel a bit off center. Like we need to get aligned and then walk in the order that God has for us now! This is a new time and so we probably can’t do things the way we always have! Where does that get us? We won’t grow and we won’t do anything any different if we aren’t willing to learn and choose. The Word of God says this – choose Life that you may LIVE! Let’s not miss out on the extraordinary relationship that God wants us to have with HIM! This is the day of salvation!
God wants us to flourish, not just “get by” in this world. It is a place of freedom and of beauty. Yes, it is possible to live my life on the narrow path of blessing with God leading me by His Spirit. It is what I call the primrose path and it is beautiful, because I am living and walking with Him! The cadence is perfect for me and He loves me so much and gives me the strength and the vision that I need as I look up to Him. I can throw back my head and just laugh – Ha! Ha! Ha! Nothing can touch me without His knowing it and ordaining it. In that, there is peace.
